Printers
Printers enable the computer to output information that may be carried around. Whether it's a text, a photograph, or even an artwork on canvas, a printer allows us to duplicate information and share it with others (for more advanced equipment).
Scanners
Data input devices such as scanners allow you to enter data into a computer. They can be used to import documents and convert the hard copy to text that can be edited in word processors, or they can be used in conjunction with type-reading software to import documents and convert the hard copy to text that can be edited in word processors. From as small as a slide, some scanners may produce images as huge as millions of terabytes.
Audio Accessories
Audio peripherals can be used for both input and output. Microphones allow us to record an instrument or record our voice into a computer and upload it to the internet. Better microphones may be utilized with the correct adapters or external gear, but they require a unique jack (commonly referred to as a "stereo-mini"). The majority of high-end recording studios now use digital inputs and sound boards solely. Another component that outputs music and other sounds is speakers.
Input Devices:
By Input devices, we mean computer accessories such as mouse, keyboards and microphones among others. These devices assist in inputing data into a computer for further use or storage. This leads us to the next computer peripheral.
External Storage Devices
External drives or memory can be substantially bigger (in terms of storage capacity) than a computer's hard drive, or tiny enough to fit into a shirt pocket. They provide storage for digital data that is too large for a computer's hard drive, as well as the ability to physically move this data.
